An extra 824 followers from 60 seconds of effort

The other day, I tried something a bit different...

...It took me all of 60 seconds, and it ended up getting my client nearly 60,000 views and 824 new followers without spending a cent on ads.

Here’s what happened:

I work with a podcast, helping them grow on YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok.

For them, normally, we post:

  • 3–8 minute clips on YouTube
  • Short 10-60 second clips on Instagram and TikTok

But lately, I’ve been hearing that TikTok and Instagram are starting to push longer videos, so I decided to give it a go...

...I grabbed a 4-minute clip that had performed well on YouTube and chucked it up on TikTok.

And here’s how it went:

• 56K views

• 824 new followers

• More traffic to the main podcast

Not bad for a quick experiment, aye?

Now, does this mean you should go all in on long-form content?

Not necessarily...

...But platforms are clearly shifting away from super-short clips, giving more reach to videos in the 1–3 minute range, sometimes even longer.

This is because longer videos keep people watching longer, which means more ad revenue for the platform.

So, if you’ve already got longer clips sitting there, chuck them up across platforms.

It takes 60 seconds, and you never know what might happen.

Worst case? You get a few hundred views.

Best case? It takes off and brings in more eyeballs, leads, and sales.
